What We Believe

Purpose

Kingdom Life Community Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ by bringing kingdom culture to life in diverse communities through diverse community.

Statement of Faith

As a church we affirm the longstanding theological tenants of the Christian faith agreed upon and articulated in the Lausanne Covenant.

KLCC’s Theological Distinctives

GOSPEL-CENTRED THEOLOGY

God is the initiator of Salvation and Jesus is the Saviour. We respond to God’s initiative and are saved only by His grace which He made available to us through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Christ’s life, death, resurrection, ascension and sending of the Spirit are the centerpieces of Christian faith. It is through and because of Christ alone that we have become children of God, have been made into a new creation and have an eternal hope for a new heaven and earth.

CHARISMATIC PNEUMATOLOGY

We believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and active in the sanctification, empowerment, ongoing filling and sending of God’s people to fulfill His purposes in the world. We believe all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active and working in God’s people today. We do not believe, however, that one gift in particular is required to give evidence of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit.

ALREADY-NOT-YET ESCHATOLOGY

We believe the kingdom of God was inaugurated with the incarnation of Jesus Christ and will be fully realized upon His second coming. We live in a period of time where Christ’s rule has begun and we can experience the first fruits of His kingdom while we anxiously await the full realization of a new heaven and new earth upon Christ’s return in glory. We acknowledge that there are a variety of views in regards to the scope and reality of the inaugurated kingdom and we embrace and allow for this variety in our church family.

MISSIONAL ECCLESIOLOGY

We believe the church is the family of God sent and enabled by the Spirit to make disciples of all nations in the name of Jesus Christ. We have been saved by grace for a purpose to bring God glory and make Jesus known wherever we are. This mission has remained unchanged since Christ sent His first disciples on it, and it will remain unchanged until His return.

KINGDOM LIFE COMMUNITIES (KLCs) as the PRIMARY MEANS OF DISCIPLESHIP

We believe that disciples are best called and equipped in the context of diverse community day to day, not just Sunday to Sunday. Our KLCs gather throughout the week in various homes, locations, and on various platforms to learn how to better reflect our King. KLCs also gather to engage in the worship rhythms of Kingdom life; namely: proclaiming the gospel, learning and teaching, praying, gathering, and sacrificial giving.
